#The product's terms

Archived Issue
An Issue set aside as finished or no longer relevant. It is still readable and is kept indefinitely. Not the same as closed or deleted.
Deleted Issue
An Issue removed from all views. It can be restored for 90 days, after which it is gone for good.
Department
A group of your Organization's people by trade, such as Structure or Electrical. Used for tidiness and for notifying people together. It grants no permissions.
Discipline
The trade an Issue belongs to, such as HVAC or Plumbing. It describes Issues, not people.
Engineer
The base Role on a Project. On a Project's Team tab Engineers are listed as Members.
General Manager
The top Role in an Organization. Sees every Project and manages the Organization's people, Roles, Departments, Disciplines, Projects and Support Access.
Get started
A new Organization's checklist for its General Managers: invite the team, check the Departments, Disciplines and Roles, create a first Project and connect the Revit add-in. It shows in the sidebar until a General Manager closes it.
Health
How a Project is doing, judged from its open Issues as they are now: On track, At risk or Critical. A person's Dashboard judges it only from the Issues they can see.
Issue
One problem to be resolved, raised from a model, with a status, assignees, a viewpoint and a discussion.
Issue Visibility
Which of a Project's Issues a Project Member can see: all of them, their Department's, or only their own.
License
What an Organization has paid for: its seats, its Project Limit and when it ends. When it ends the Organization becomes read-only. On-premise installs use a per-computer key instead.
Membership
A User's place in one Organization.
Open Project
A Project everyone in the Organization can work on without being added to it.
Organization
One customer company and everything it owns: its Departments, Disciplines, Roles and Projects. Nothing in one Organization is visible to people in another. The add-in calls it a hub.
Overdue
An open Issue whose due date is before today.
Project
One piece of work an Organization coordinates, split into Zones.
Project Limit
How many Projects your License allows you to keep. Every Project counts, whether active, archived or deleted, until it is permanently deleted.
Project Manager
A Role held on one Project. Runs the Projects they are assigned to and sees only those.
Project Member
A person added to a Project, with their Role there and their Issue Visibility.
Role
A named set of permissions an Organization gives to people. Each Organization starts with four default Roles and its General Manager can change or add to them.
Support Access
Time-limited permission a General Manager gives Technical Support to read their Organization's Projects. It is read-only, and every request is recorded in the Organization log.
Team Leader
A Role held on one Project. Leads part of the work there.
Technical Support
Top Matrix staff who help customers. They see a customer's Projects only with Support Access.
User
One person's sign-in identity. A User can belong to several Organizations.
Zone
A part of a Project whose Issues are numbered together, such as Tower. Issues are named after it: Tower #1.

#Words in the add-ins

Viewpoint
A saved view of the model attached to an Issue: camera, section box, hidden elements, view template, selected elements and a snapshot. Show in model restores it.
Snip
A picture of part of your screen. Choose Snip myself when raising an Issue, drag a rectangle and press Enter. A snip always opens in markup.
Markup
Drawing on a picture before it is saved: arrow, line, rectangle, ellipse, revision cloud, freehand, text and crop. The original picture is kept, so a crop can be undone later.
Clash sphere
A sphere that marks the exact point of a clash in a 3D view. You click the point in the model and the sphere appears in the picture.
"#" element reference
In a comment, # links another Issue of the Project or a model element. Clicking an element reference later finds the element in the model.
Source
Where an Issue was raised from: Revit or Navisworks, with the model's file name.
Show in model
Restores an Issue's viewpoint in your open model, in a 3D view made for the purpose. 2D viewpoints open their original view.
